Basic Functions: Assisting the Director of Community Engagement in all aspects of Mobility Mentoring. This role is committed to providing ongoing relational support to Advance Memphis participants by utilizing EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring one-on-one coaching model to support participants in acquiring the resources, and skills needed to establish greater economic stability.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Community Engagement in:
- Coordination of staff and volunteer teams of Coaches and participants
- Development of Trauma-informed, MM Coach training and ongoing learning
- Provision of encouragement, accountability, and training to Coaches
- Working with the Accounting and Database Manager to integrate data tracking into Salesforce. Recording, tracking, and analyzing MM data.
- Working with the Volunteer & Communications Coordinator to help recruit volunteer Coaches.
- Creating systems for sustainable and compassionate MM Team workload management.
- Support MM staff and volunteer Coaches in staying connected with their Teammates and cultivating trust-based relationships.
- Provide trauma-informed care and coaching for participants as you acquire resources, skills or life change, together through Christ.
- Identify community resources to help participants reach their goals, and create resource sheets to help guide other coaches in supporting their teams (caseloads).
- Recruit Advance Memphis graduates to engage in Mobility Mentoring.
- Complete the Mobility Mentoring Foundations course and seek ongoing learning opportunities to grow in knowledge and practice of trauma-informed coaching strategies.
- Participate in Work Life class activities as needed in order to build relationships with participants engaged in Mobility Mentoring.
Organizational Standards and Accountability
In addition to the specific tasks previously described, this position is required to contribute significantly to promoting a highly functioning organizational and team learning environment, and as such, the Mobility Mentoring Coordinator is expected to:
- Be a Christian who believes God’s word is truth and lives it out in every area of his/her life. Share God’s unmerited grace to others in word and deed
- Exhibit a positive attitude and a willingness to work with the Advance Memphis team to share the gospel and help residents of
- Follow through with assignments and complete them in a timely manner
- Have experience with Microsoft Office products and ability to demonstrate intermediate use of Excel or agree to training
- Communicate appropriately and effectively in both written and oral forms with participants, graduates, potential participants and Advance Memphis volunteers and visitors
- Manage time effectively by keeping scheduled appointments, turning in reports on time, and working productively.
- Exhibit a high level of self-directedness, initiative, and attention to detail when completing any work.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
- Requires a high level of flexibility to adapt to changing projects and workforce. Perform other duties and ad hoc activities as assigned.
- A basic understanding of Christian Community Development and how a Christian should build relationships with financially poor individuals in order to promote economic stability.
