After-School Care Counselors are in charge of children age 2 through eighth grade that stay after school. In this role, your duties could include leading a variety of activities, games, serving snacks, helping students with homework. After-school care counselors offer students the chance to be productive and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.Successful After School Care Counselors possess the following qualities and/or skills: Strong communication skills; Patience and strong decision-making skills; Instructional and Interpersonal skills; Ability to regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear and visually observe students and the environment; Ability to follow and enforce safety policies; Flexibility and adaptability to new situations; Assist in recreation programs; Assist with student check-in/out; Attend all training meetings; Willingness to work indoors and outdoors; Must be 18 years old or older and be able to pass a background and reference check.Work Hours and Compensation: The position of After School Care Counselor is a seasonal position that is paid once a month, starting salary is $10/hour.
