WORK TYPE: Contract (6-12 months)
LOCATION DETAILS: Remote Texas or Memphis - To be considered for this role, you must reside in the DFW Metroplex or Memphis metroplex and be able to report to our headquarters in Farmers Branch, TX OR Varsity Spirit headquarters in Memphis, TN as needed for onsite work or occasional meetings
WORK HOURS: Full time exempt
PAY RATE: USD $70,000-$80,000
Pay rate will vary based on criteria such as education, experience and qualifications of the applicant, location, internal equity, and alignment with the market.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead strategic hiring initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for taking complete ownership of the full cycle of recruiting duties for our corporate departments such as Finance, IT, Marketing, Event Operations and other business units in the Varsity Brands organization.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Fast paced, full lifecycle recruiting - including reviewing job descriptions, posting requisitions, collaborating with Talent Marketing to strategically advertise hard to fill roles, reviewing and screening resumes, conducting recruiter screens, and scheduling hiring manager interviews.
- Conduct initial intake sessions with hiring teams and develop recruitment strategy
- Managing the candidates through the Offer process, creating offer letters and working within Workday
- Maintaining accurate, real-time notes in the Applicant Tracking System
- Provide hiring teams and leadership with weekly recruitment updates on progress and market insights
- Coordinating and Attending job fairs as needed
- Maintain personnel policies and procedures in compliance with State and Federal laws consistent with corporate philosophy and core values.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Ensures legal compliance in all aspects of the human resource department and ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- The ideal candidate must be out-going, detail-oriented, a self-starter with excellent written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Multi-tasking capabilities and a demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office -- including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Competence to build and maintain interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- Working knowledge of labor and employment law and best practices.
- Ability to travel occasionally to Dallas, TX for on-site training meetings.
Education, Certification and Experience
- 5+ years of full life cycle High-Volume Recruiting experience in IT Recruiting
- Experience working in Applicant Tracking Systems
- 3 years experience with CRM and social media recruitment
- Previous Workday ATS experience a plus!
- Passion for Sports, Cheer, Dance, and School Spirit a plus!
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.
