JOB TYPE: Full Time


LOCATION TYPE: This job operates in a hybrid capacity between a home office environment and in school, community, and event environments.


LOCATION DETAILS: West Region


COMPENSATION: The budgeted pay range for this role is between $62,355 to $68,640 per year.


Pay will vary based on criteria such as education, experience and qualifications of the applicant, location, internal equity, and alignment with the market.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Travel to all National Championships, as well as select camps and competitions, will be required.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

A Curriculum Director role is key to Varsity’s camp and competition success and passionate about elevating the student experience by delivering world-class curriculum for all USA camps and clinics throughout the year.


A Curriculum Director will represent Varsity Brands by demonstration of company core values in driving the highest ethical standards of conduct in all business activities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Responsible for the overall direction and effectiveness of camp curriculum for USA Camps & USA Staff
  • Manage USA cheer and combined curriculum (routines, summer camp schedules, clinics, special events) for the Spirit Program.
  • Choreograph/develop material for cheer and combined Spirit program curriculum.
  • Organize and select music pieces for summer camps and any additional fall/spring/winter material/routine needs.
  • Plan and arrange music albums for Clementune app or alternative method of distributing music.
  • Coordination of all program support manuals & materials (both customer & staff facing). Including, but not limited to, staff toolbox updates, application updates and staff survey updates.
  • Creation of camp/clinic paperwork return process for staff and camp/clinic supplies.
  • Collaborate with the Staffing Director on core staff and staffing of camps and clinics.
  • Ensuring routines, music, and teaching approaches are inclusive of different cultural backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Reinforcing Varsity’s commitment to a safe and empowering environment for all athletes.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the seasonal staff that drives customer experience and operational excellence to exceed division objectives.
  • Oversee development, design and distribution of USA staff uniforms and assist with these items for dance and band programs.
  • Assist in developing division limitations and rules for competition season to ensure these are supported by camp/clinic curriculum.
  • Schedule and manage USA Camp choreography/material filming and assist with these items for dance and band programs.
  • Manage and review customer feedback as it relates to curriculum.
  • Partner with State Director on curriculum development for better customer experience.
  • Work with USA Brand Manager and Staffing Director to plan USA Staff Trainings for all programs as it relates to curriculum.
  • Coordinate and manage Core Staff for USA Staff Trainings.
  • Attend and assist on key events throughout the year to gain industry insight.
  • Collaborate with all Cheer Brands, Varsity University, Marketing, HR and business leaders to ensure curriculum delivery, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Assist brand with on call responsibilities of staff related travel emergencies.

  • Knowledge of current cheerleading trends, pop culture, and music.
  • Ability to develop age-appropriate curriculum tailored to diverse learning styles and environments.
  • Demonstrates passion for elevating the student experience through engaging and inclusive programming

Business Acumen & Operational Excellence

  • Strategic planning and proactive presentation skills to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks/projects.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and create effective solutions.
  • Technical proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Capacity to maintain a distraction-free home office and ensure reliable travel for in-person needs.

Customer Focus & Industry Expertise

  • Commitment to student-athlete experience and customer feedback integration.
  • Collaboration with parents, staff, and partners to optimize program delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of cheer & dance programs and industry best practices.
  • Ability to travel regularly and work evenings/weekends as required

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Cooperative team player who can also work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Exemplary time management and organization skills and can work on multiple tasks/projects concurrently
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • USA Industry knowledge & experience is required
  • Up to date with the latest trends and industry best practices
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, energetic team player with the ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Above all, a passion for positively impacting young athletes
