HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Sr. Test Automation Engineer will lead the functional test automation program across technology teams at Varsity Yearbook. This role is critical to ensuring quality and efficiency in our Yearbook Technology platform through robust automated testing practices.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts across the Yearbook Technology platform.
  • Maintain and enhance automation test frameworks to improve testing efficiency.
  • Maximize test coverage for all critical application components.
  • Document automated testing processes and best practices.
  • Integrate functional test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support production deployment activities and troubleshoot issues.
  • Log and track bugs using Jira.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams and QA to improve test coverage and quality.



QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python.
  • Expert-level experience with Cypress.io; familiarity with other tools like Selenium, TestComplete, TestNG preferred.
  • Experience with CI tools (e.g., Jenkins) and version control systems (Git, SourceTree).
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools: Jira, Confluence, BitBucket.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of web application development and cloud-native concepts, including AWS deployments.
  • Experience with additional test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with performance testing and security testing practices.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent use of keyboard, mouse, and other input devices.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 10 lbs (e.g., laptops, peripherals).
  • Ability to participate in virtual meetings and communicate effectively via video/audio platforms.
  • No significant travel required; position is primarily remote.
