LOCATION DETAILS: Memphis, TN or Northeast region


TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Event travel and attendance at staff meetings & trainings is required. Event travel will include overnight stays for events.



HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The UCA Staffing Director role is key to Varsity’s camp and competition success and is responsible for overall camp and competition instructional staffing effectiveness of a designated region. A Staffing Director will represent Varsity Brands by demonstration of company core values in driving the highest ethical standards of conduct in all business activities.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Staffing Directors are responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, logistics, & overall performance management of UCA instructional staff & competition staff members in the region.

  • Develop Staff Enhancement Program to effectively recruit new staff.
  • Forecast summer camp staffing needs based on projected enrollments.
  • Ongoing recruiting for staff from high school, colleges, & universities.
  • Supervise and manage assigned instructional staff.
  • Organize contracts, locations, facilitate, and budget for instructional staff tryouts, staff training, events, and meetings.
  • Candidate screening, interviewing & hiring of instructional staff each spring.
  • Staff communication and expectations with staff on upcoming events including camps, clinics, events, and competitions within the Varsity Spirit Brand.
  • Send staff materials necessary to organize and carry out assigned events.
  • Oversee proper ordering of staff uniforms and supplies for region.
  • Scheduling & daily monitoring of camp enrollments followed by fluctuation in staffing.
  • Log and monitor travel costs per region.
  • Daily organization of staff travel to and from camps, clinics, events, and competitions.
  • Approval of Home Camp dates based on instructor availability and appropriate system set up for camp type, dates, and locations.
  • Monitor proper set up and cost control for Home Camp hotels with travel agent.
  • Communication with customers on camp questions and Home Camp set up.
  • Work with State Directors and/or customers on camp experience.
  • Release of payroll and expense reimbursements for each camp and event.
  • Staff performance management, evaluation, and effectiveness.
  • Conduct end of summer research to determine areas of strength and weakness and to determine needed new staff in region.
  • On-site Staffing Director at select events and competitions.
  • Planning of Summer Camp Operations training for the Sales State Director(s) associated region and ongoing communication for optimal growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

  • Proactive planning & presentation skills to create strategic business objectives.
  • Accountability and follow through to meet business objectives and lead a team.
  • High-level of professionalism and business acumen.
  • Time management and organization skills to prioritize multiple tasks/projects.
  • Excellent written, email, & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teambuilding/people development orientation to build and retain strong relationships.
  • Technical skills. [Microsoft Office Suite]. Routine computer, phone, and printer use.
  • Ability to travel regularly and to work evenings/weekends as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of cheer & dance programs.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and create effective solutions.
  • Cultivate an in-home office that is distraction-free.
  • Ensure reliable travel for regular face-to-face touch points.
  • Demonstrates commitment and passion to elevate the student experience.


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED. [required]
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or education. [preferred]
  • Cheer or dance experience. [preferred]
  • Instructional staff experience. [preferred]
  • Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in Salesforce. [recommended]

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a hybrid setting between a professional office and a home office environment. In addition, this position will require travel to locations for camps, events, training, and competition. This role is 60% sedentary and 40% active. It is necessary for this role to participate in Training & Education activities.
