JOB TYPE: Full Time
LOCATION TYPE: This job operates in a hybrid between a home office environment and in school, community, and event environments.
JOB LOCATION DETAILS: Pennsylvania
WORK HOURS: 8am - 5pm with the ability to travel regularly and to work evenings/weekends, as needed
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel within territory is expected including customer visits, conferences, events, and championships.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
A Varsity Spirit State Director role is key to Varsity’s camp and competition success and is responsible for developing and executing a plan to achieve sales goals, recruit strategic university partners, and work with state associations to grow cheer and dance participation
A Varsity Spirit Sales Representative will represent Varsity Brands by demonstration of company core values in driving the highest ethical standards of conduct in all business activities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build and maintain key customer relationships and direct customers into appropriate camp and competition products and services that meet customers’ unique needs and achieve territory sales targets
- Identify key strategic university partners within territory and build relationships to leverage universities for camp locations, staff recruiting, and cheer and dance advisory needs.
- Develop state association relationships with overall goal to create a safe environment that encourages cheer and dance participation
- Promote camps and events in coordination with marketing and sales support; includes engaging customers on social media and using branded company social accounts
- Work with apparel reps and summer camp instructors to grow camps, clinics, and events
- Perform competitive market analysis and adapt strategic plans to local market conditions
- Coordinate with Staffing Directors, Regional Manager and University Relations on set-up and advertising of all camps, clinics, and conferences, including new location planning
- Determine key athletic director conferences and ensure appropriate Varsity Spirit presence
- Help facilitate staff recruiting and staff training events
- Support development of camp and clinic educational curriculum
- Research new customers and update existing customer contact information in CRM
- Product & services knowledge, promotion & consultation
- Meet & exceed assigned territory sales targets
- Prospect power – build rapport
- Build & maintain key customer relationships
- Identify & offer personalized customer solutions
- Travel to appointments, meetings, and events within the territory
- Excel in a work from home environment

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Business acumen and adaptability to take high-level direction and use judgement to find best products and services for customers
- Proactive planning & presentation skills to create and build territory plans that meet sales goals and strategic objectives
- High-level of professionalism and business acumen especially when dealing with large, sophisticated partners at universities and state associations
- Time management and organization skills to independently balance and work on multiple tasks/projects concurrently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service orientation to build and retain strong business relationships
- Technical skills [Microsoft Office, Salesforce]
- Strong knowledge of cheer/dance programs is preferred
- Ability to generate leads, forecast sales cycle, anticipate problems, and create effective solutions, with an aspiration to meet and exceed sales goals
- Cultivate an in-home office that is distraction-free
- Ensure reliable travel for regular face-to-face touch points
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in administrative support role for at least 2 years.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or education (preferred)
- Cheer or Dance experience (preferred)
- Camp experience (preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and working on a computer with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
- Travel days require movement to and from location, ability to drive distances in a vehicle, physically lift luggage via air travel, and some general lifting of materials, boxes, etc. for setting up booth displays at camps, competitions, and conferences. Office days are largely sedentary performing computer work.
