St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® was founded in 1962 by philanthropist and performer Danny Thomas. It is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center dedicated solely to children. Since its opening, St. Jude has strived to advance cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
