Overview
M. Madan Babu's Group in the Center of Excellence for Data-Driven Discovery and the Department of Structural Biology is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to develop new interdisciplinary research projects.
The Babu Group uses data-driven approaches to understand sequence-function relationships in intrinsically disordered proteins and structure-function relationships in medicinally important structured protein families such as GPCRs and kinases. We are looking for a candidate to fill any of several roles in our highly interdisciplinary, collaborative environment. You will work in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment and will be expected to communicate complex informatics principles, methods, analyses, and results to scientists from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities
Assume a leadership role in a project that combines data science with experimental biology. Your efforts will receive strong support from St. Jude’s Center for Applied Bioinformatics, Center for Advanced Genome Engineering, Vector Core, Protein Technologies Center, and the Department of Structural Biology’s Technology Core Centers, which empower structure-function studies using CryoEM, Mass Spectrometry, NMR, Single Molecule, and X-ray techniques
Learn and employ appropriate computational analysis pipelines and assays to answer specific biological questions
Plan and present research with passion and clarity
Prepare high-quality manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals
To contribute to the mission of St. Jude in the public communication of science, and the dissemination and translation of research findings into improvements in healthcare

Minimum Education
This is a Postdoctoral Research Associate role; candidates must hold a doctoral degree. Applicants with a PhD in a quantitative field are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Experience
Strong candidates from a primarily computational background are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have a strong track record, as demonstrated by metrics relevant to their field.
