Internship Details:
Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
Pay: $14/hour
Location: Headquarters Office in Memphis, TN

Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college/university or May 2026 graduate

Job Description
The Writing Team is a collaborative group of storytellers in Memphis and around the country dedicated to bringing the St. Jude mission to life through compelling narratives. Our team crafts compelling stories that highlight the generosity of donors and supporters, share courageous patient cancer journeys and showcase groundbreaking treatments and research at St. Jude. These stories are used in marketing campaigns and published online on Inspire, ALSAC’s premiere storytelling platform that celebrates our mission and shares impactful narratives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Formulate insightful questions and conduct interviews
Write clear and engaging donor stories and patient bios
Utilize correct grammar and AP style guidelines
Refine written work through thorough self-editing
Adapt tone and style to suit diverse audiences
Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
Collaborate with other ALSAC marketing teams to develop content
Pitch story ideas that align with audience interests and organizational goals
Validate and confirm accuracy of information through research and fact-checking
Participate in cross-team meetings to capture key insights and story ideas for future content.
Engage in active listening to capture key details and storylines
Preferred Majors:
Journalism, English and Creative Writing, Communications
Preferred Skills:
Microsoft Word
Social Media
Strong narrative writing and journalistic interviewing skills
Curiosity and initiative to dig deeper for compelling details.
