Job Description
Under the supervision of the Manager, Mail Room/Logistics, the Logistics & Mailroom Support Specialist is responsible for the daily operations related to the receipt, preparation, and delivery of postal mail and packages. This role also provides logistical support for warehouse deliveries and organizational events, both on and off campus. The ideal candidate will be skilled in operating warehouse equipment and possess strong communication and organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Operate warehouse equipment including electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and manual hand jacks safely and efficiently.
- Support logistical needs for organizational events, including setup and transportation of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and inventory.
- Follow detailed procedures and instructions to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and service delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; 2 years of college coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in logistics, mailroom operations, or support services.
- Working knowledge of warehouse and mailroom procedures, processes, and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and procedures.
- Must possess a valid Class D driver’s license; “F” endorsement preferred.
- Certification in the use of electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and manual hand jacks, or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Skills:
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service orientation and a team-focused mindset.
- Experience supporting logistics for events or large-scale operations.
This position is based at our National Executive Office on the St. Jude Campus in Memphis, TN, and requires on-site presence five days a week.
