Job Description

As the Director of Direct Marketing Strategy, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our fundraising efforts and driving growth. Join our passionate team and help us achieve our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead a team responsible for developing and executing direct marketing strategies.

  • Manage three to four direct reports, fostering a collaborative environment as roles and responsibilities evolve.

Strategic Development:

  • Develop and refine our list acquisition and reactivation mail programs.

  • Stay abreast of fundraising KPIs, direct mail tactics, and market trends.

  • Leverage data and creativity to inform strategy.

  • Segment audiences effectively and explore modeling techniques.

Budget Oversight:

  • Oversee complex budgets and forecasting.

  • Optimize program performance while managing expenses within current budgets.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate the organization’s story effectively.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Translate performance results into actionable steps.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management Skills:

    • Proven ability to build and restructure teams.

    • Collaborative mindset with bonus points for vendor relationship management.

  • Fundraising Expertise:

    • Deep understanding of fundraising KPIs and direct mail strategies.

    • Familiarity with evolving market trends.

  • Data-Driven Approach:

    • Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

    • Experience with audience segmentation and modeling.

  • Strategic Agility:

    • Curiosity, thought leadership, and problem-solving mindset.

    • Ability to align strategies with enterprise goals.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Familiarity with word processing applications (MS Office suite).

    • Knowledge of print production methodology and brand development.

  • Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (minimum 6 years).

    • Print production knowledge is a plus.
