Job Description

Interns join a mission where they learn more about how we’ve become one of the most trusted nonprofits brands in the industry.

ALSAC’s Program offers an immersive experience where interns experience our culture, contribute to organization’s goals through projects, and build relationships with team members and senior leadership. During the summer internship, interns are assigned to a day-to-day manager where they are with provided meaningful assignments. After 12 weeks, interns will truly understand what it's like to be a part of the ALSAC/St.Jude. ALSAC/St.Jude was selected as the 100 best internship programs in the U.S. in 2022 by WayUp and Yello.

Innovation Intern Project

ALSAC Summer Intern Innovation Project: Throughout the internship, interns will have a chance to connect with innovators from across ALSAC and learn the art of Design Thinking. Interns will work in teams, be creative, and participate sessions to help prepare them to present their projects to ALSAC’s CEO and members of our Executive Leadership Team.

Start Date: May 20, 2024
End Date: August 9, 2024
Hours: 40 hours a week (Monday-Friday)
Pay Rate: Based on work location
Work Location: Office in Baton Rouge

Requirements:

A passion for our mission!
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
Must be comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Actively participate in the Summer Intern Innovation Project through cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders and your assigned project.
Ability to work in a team environment but also work strong independently.
Ability to be organized and detailed to balance several projects simultaneously.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills:

The Business Continuity & Resiliency team is responsible for empowering dynamic responses to ongoing disruptions through facilitation, governance and consultation in order to protect the organization and St. Jude brand. You’ll be working hand in hand with the team as they advise departments across the organization while getting a view into multiple facets of ALSAC’s business.

Majors preferred: Business, Marketing, Emergency Management, Political Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science.
Experience working with Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA and Confluence.
Projects include working with the team to update Business Impact Analysis, Continuity Plans, assisting with Champion exercises, and iterating on a team metric dashboard in Tableau.
Tasks include making updates in our BC software (Riskonnect), calculating team metrics, updating the team knowledge base and assisting with annual team goals.
Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken), presentation skills, interpersonal savvy and executive presence.
