Job Description

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in project management? Do you have a passion for delivering business systems solutions and associated applications that support business objectives? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Project Manager II position at our company.

As a Project Manager II, you will lead the planning, managing, and delivery of large-scale projects or initiatives that involve technical support services, contract administration, budget analysis, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication. You will work closely with the Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Information Technology Services teams to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of systems solutions deployed in support of business goals and objectives. You will also use critical path methodology and change management skills to manage assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation are followed.
  • Create and maintain a project plan, consult in departmental meetings, and create and deliver presentations.
  • Create detailed project status reports, risk assessments, charters, and issue logs for management and the project team.
  • Create, maintain, and track project budgets, process invoices, and perform budget analysis; including cost variances, schedule variances, and earned value.
  • Lead or assist in contract negotiations, including RFPs, contract administration, and contract closure.
  • Manage vendor relationships including service delivery and overall performance as pertains to assigned projects.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the project team staff in a matrix environment including conflict resolution.
  • Lead all aspects of a project including initiation, planning, monitoring, implementation, and closing.
  • project manager position is a blend of waterfall and agile.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 4 years experience combining technical, analytical, and functional experience including experience in project design, project scheduling, and/or contract administration, or an MBA and 4 years experience combining technical, analytical, and functional experience including experience in project design, project scheduling and/or contract administration.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification is preferred.
  • Proven understanding of the Project Lifecycle and Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to work well individually within a team environment; delegate and share decision-making with team members as appropriate.
  • Proven management of complex system implementations (Oracle preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Project with in-depth use experience.
  • Competent in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Outlook and other tools that would be used for communication/documentation purposes.
  • Clear communication, both written and verbal. Meticulously organized but agile. Interpersonal skills. Able to lead teams towards a common goal. Analytical.
