Job Description

Are you passionate about creating engaging and effective web content for a diverse and multicultural audience? Do you have a user-first and mobile-first mindset that drives your content decisions? Do you have experience working with content management systems and web development tools? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Sr Specialist - Digital Content Strategy, Bilingual position at ALSAC.

ALSAC is the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s leading pediatric cancer research centers. Our mission is to raise the funds and awareness necessary to operate and maintain the hospital, which is the only one of its kind where families never pay for treatment, travel, housing, or food.

As a Sr Specialist - Digital Content Strategy, Bilingual, you will be responsible for developing and implementing content strategies for the creation, structure, delivery, and management of ALSAC bilingual web content to meet business goals and user needs. You will work closely with fundraising partners, web developers, designers, and other stakeholders to create and curate core bilingual web content and content hierarchy for distribution among web channels, such as stjude.org/espanol and other websites. You will also serve as the lead bilingual/multicultural collaborator and mentor for junior bilingual content strategists.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking a user-first and mobile-first approach to deliver quality content that drives customer engagement and supports the ALSAC brand and mission.

  • Creating web content strategies and key deliverables such as stakeholder interviews, content briefs, page tables, user flows, editorial style guides, and governance plans for bilingual/multicultural web projects.

  • Writing, editing, and reviewing bilingual web content for clarity, accuracy, consistency, tone, and voice, ensuring adherence to content strategies and style guides.

  • Overseeing content production work in the content management system (CMS), and serving as business owner for the CMS author experience.

  • Working with teams to create technical requirements for components and templates in the CMS, and providing training and documentation for CMS users.

  • Understanding various web media and promotional channels, such as social and email, and providing key content to meet the marketing needs of each.

  • Developing content for online multicultural fundraising promotions, banner ads, dynamic news, and other online campaigns.

  • Leading multicultural content editorial meetings to schedule, budget, and secure web content.

  • Assisting in key Internet/CMS projects to streamline and improve website and CMS usage.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism/English, Marketing, Advertising, or Information Technology and 5 years of hands-on writing/editing experience including at least 3 years of web content development.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, with excellent communication skills, grammar, and writing ability.

  • Knowledge of the Internet and Internet products and other forms of multimedia; complete proficiency with the Microsoft Office product suite; experience using Adobe Photoshop and basic HTML knowledge a plus; hands-on experience with visual HTML tools such as Dreamweaver recommended.

  • Knowledge of content management systems and project management skills preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment with rapidly changing technology; willingness to learn new software packages quickly and assist in department training.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and short turn-around times.
