As a Technical Project Manager supporting the Bank Technology division at Raymond James, the Project Manager will assist in managing multiple Bank technology projects which will have a significant impact on business processes and technology used firm wide. The Project Manager will partner with IT leadership, vendors, internal IT, and business members to identify, prioritize, and manage opportunities to achieve defined goals. Role includes the development of project strategies, business cases, and high-level project plans.

Candidate will work under the direction of the Head of Bank Technology and must be able to operate within a high-risk, complex IT environment. This role requires the ability to understand IT systems and be able to navigate in this environment.

Responsible for the development and implementation of project strategies, business case, and high-level project plans/scheduled.
Partners with vendors and internal and external business unit subject matter experts to plan and implement strategies to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects throughout all phases. Responsibilities also include facilitating and maintaining contact with internal partners and vendors to identify, research and resolve related project issues.
Manages external resources (service providers, vendors, contractors) to achieve business results.
Communicates with Technology leadership, business leadership, and consultants on project status, strategy, direction and change.
Develop, track, and monitor budgets, and provide clear, timely status updates and presentations to management.
Create Smartsheet plans/dashboards; enable transparent communication and team productivity.
Responsible for facilitating meetings, tracking key project milestone, risks, change controls, and related project reports in compliance with established technology standards (and in relation to business needs).
Assists in the overall management of projects, including applying established project methodologies (SDLC, Agile), change control templates, manages activities to define project schedules, and assists with monthly/quarterly reporting.
Makes judgments and recommendations based on analysis and knowledge.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills/Previous Experience:
Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years of relevant experience in project management required or any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Experience using Azure DevOps (TFS), JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent project management systems.
Experience with creating project schedules using MS Project and SmartSheets.
Creating and archiving documentation in a repository, such as SharePoint or Confluence.
Financial services and/or banking experience is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Project management methodologies and tools (Agile and/or Waterfall Methodology Smartsheet, Excel), including application development and project life cycle methodologies: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)).
Concepts of risk management, issue tracking, change management and requirements gathering.
Business planning and analysis.
Project budget interfaces with other accounting systems.
Skill in:
Presentation skills, status reporting/dashboards, and updating of senior team members on overall project health.
Project management, project implementation, planning, budgeting, and data management.
Writing, analyzing and interpreting complex technical configuration documents.
Ability to:
Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for business sponsors; proactively shape scope and success measures.
Influence without authority, resolve conflict, and create shared understanding through clear narratives and facilitation.
Establish stakeholder forums and feedback loops to de risk change management and drive adoption.
Partner with key stakeholders to ensure controls are designed in and evidenced throughout the lifecycle.
Licenses/Certifications:
None required.
PMP or equivalent certification highly preferred.
