Directs, coordinates and implements site security, operations and activities to ensure the protection of executives, managers, employees, physical and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and delivers preventative programs and services to protect against criminal financial loss, counterfeiting, crime against persons, sabotage, threats, emergencies, illegal acts, and property or environmental crimes.
  • Plans, develops and directs the organization's protective services function under senior management direction.
  • Develops, manages and executes protective services programs as necessary for the Chairman, CEO, President, members of the Board of Directors and other executives of the organization and their families.
  • Responsible for protective programs to include personal protection, corporate facilities, residence, airfield and event security, ground and air transportation, protocol, personal assistance and special projects.
  • Manages on and off-site planning, coordination and execution of plans for visiting dignitaries to include the Board of Directors, CEOs of other organizations, major account customers, Heads of State, political leaders and others.
  • Experience planning and executing secure travel itineraries, including international travel. Familiarity with advance work, venue security and coordination with law enforcement.
  • Directs the security planning and execution of major corporate meetings and events. This includes planning for visits by dignitaries and VIP guests of the organization to ensure a safe environment.
  • Develops and implements protective service strategies, objectives, plans and procedures. Implements the policies, procedures and systems required for maintaining and enhancing the overall organization's protective services organizational mission.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Proven experience in conducting threat assessments, vulnerability analyses and security audits. Ability to develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Develops and documents standards of measurement of quality and effectiveness of programs.
  • Develops and maintains wide range of intra and interagency coordination. This includes developing collaborative contacts both inside and outside of the firm.
  • Determines need for and manages procurement, installation and operational instruction of security equipment required at the residence, vacation homes or offices of executives.
  • Develops and maintains personal profiles and conducts risk assessment of all personnel covered by protective services.
  • Possesses a high level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information. Ability to operate with minimal visibility while maintaining maximum effectiveness.
  • Skilled in handling emergencies, evacuations, and medical incidents. Certified in CPR, first aid, and possibly tactical emergency care. Researches and deploys sate-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard the firms assets.
  • Technical proficiency to include familiarity with surveillance systems, GPS tracking, secure communications, and cybersecurity basics. Ability to leverage technology for intelligence gathering and operational planning.
  • Legal and Compliance knowledge to include understanding of laws related to use of force, privacy, firearms and international security regulations.
  • Develops and manages the capital and expense budget for protection operations, while staying aware of the fiduciary responsibility to the firm.
  • Identifies groups, individuals and merging technologies that may pose threat to executives.
  • Keeps management informed on major accomplishments, issues and concerns.
  • Develops, trains and directs the personnel in the Protective Service function.

Education/Previous Experience:

Master's degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position and more than 15 years’ experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public service or private sector security organization or bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position and more than 20 years’ experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization. Has demonstrated experience and exposure in the international security arena. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Certified Protection Officer (CPO), or equivalent military/law enforcement qualifications preferred.

Multilingual capabilities preferred.

Prior experience working with C-Suite executives or high-net-worth individuals.
