We are seeking a Data Scientist to join the Independent Contractor Division (ICD) at Raymond James and partner closely with our Senior Data Analyst to develop forward-looking, predictive, and prescriptive analytics that fuel advisor engagement and business growth. This role will help uncover patterns and opportunities in advisor behavior, performance, and preferences—enabling smarter decision-making at scale.
The ideal candidate is curious, highly analytical, and excited to build new models and tools that strengthen our outreach strategy and advisor experience. You’ll work in lockstep with business stakeholders and analysts to ensure your work drives real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement predictive models (e.g., advisor attrition risk, growth likelihood, product adoption) to inform outreach and support prioritization.
- Create advisor journey models to identify key inflection points and behavioral patterns that drive success or signal disengagement.
- Apply machine learning techniques to enhance segmentation efforts and refine advisor personas over time.
- Conduct scenario analysis and optimization modeling to support resource planning, staffing strategy, and advisor support design.
- Develop algorithms to score and rank advisors for targeted campaigns, coaching programs, or growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Senior Data Analyst to integrate advanced analytics into dashboards and reporting tools used by field teams.
- Ensure models are explainable, auditable, and aligned with regulatory and compliance standards.
- Monitor and continuously improve model performance, updating based on business evolution and advisor behavior trends.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience as a data scientist in a business setting, preferably in financial services or B2B relationship models
- Proficient in Python or R, with experience using libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, etc.
- Strong skills in SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets
- Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques and statistical modeling
- Ability to translate technical findings into actionable business recommendations
- Comfort working closely with business stakeholders in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred:
- Experience modeling advisor or customer behavior in a wealth management or asset management context
- Exposure to CRM data, advisor compensation data, or product usage analytics
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques to complement modeling outputs
