Job Summary

The Enterprise Architect defines and applies enterprise architecture decisions to support planning, design, and delivery of consistent, scalable technology solutions across the enterprise. A career in our Enterprise Technology Architecture (ETAC) organization will provide you with a unique opportunity to shape enterprise‑wide technology direction and guide long‑term architectural decisions.

Essential Functions

As an Enterprise Architect, this position is focused on enterprise technology architecture and strategy, with particular emphasis on architectural decision‑making, demand definition, and future‑state design. Daily activities include engagement with key stakeholders and IT architects to perform impact assessments, support work decomposition, and analyze enterprise initiatives through an architectural lens, informed by a deep understanding of proven technologies, emerging capabilities, and enterprise‑wide guidance.

In this position, you will work in close partnership with architects of all levels and technology stakeholders across the enterprise to define technology architecture decisions that guide program‑level and solution teams as they design and implement solutions. The role applies insights from ongoing technology research, evaluation, and validation efforts to help teams make informed choices, reduce uncertainty, and adopt approaches that have been demonstrated to meet enterprise needs. You will serve as a leader in enterprise architecture; influence cross‑domain and multi‑platform architecture outcomes; mentor and learn from other architects; and engage with business and technical partners to translate strategy into actionable architecture decisions, target‑state designs, and transition roadmaps that enable consistent, value‑driven execution aligned to enterprise expectations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Lead enterprise and domain-level technology architecture decision-making, including documentation of trade-offs, risks, and rationale.
  • Engage in demand elaboration activities to design for future-state outcomes and align initiatives with enterprise architecture direction.
  • Manage and contribute to technology architecture decision records, architecture alignment documentation, and non-functional requirements.
  • Provide technology architecture guidance across domains, programs, and solution teams to support planning and execution.
  • Understanding of issues related to architectural decision-making; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately and reach productive decisions.
  • Ability to translate exploratory and experimental technology work into clear adoption guidance.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and concepts, including business capability modeling and transition planning, with the effective use of supporting architecture tools.
  • Experience designing and guiding technology architecture across complex, multi-platform enterprise environments.
  • Ability to identify technology gaps, risks, and remediation needs and guide modernization and technical debt reduction efforts.
  • Collaboration skills and ability to work in dynamic environments with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, BIZBOK, or equivalent.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience and architecture practice experience.
  • Knowledge of industry and technology trends and ability to apply this knowledge to enterprise architecture decisions.
  • Ability to author reusable solution approaches based on established architectural conventions.
  • Proven executive-level communication and presentation skills.
