Job Description Summary:
- The attorney will have day-to-day responsibility for, among other things, developing, implementing, managing, and advising on internal policies, laws, and regulations.
- The attorney will be primarily responsible for providing legal guidance and advice on all aspects of data privacy and cybersecurity throughout the FedEx enterprise.
Essential Functions:
- Provides legal counsel and advice to the corporation and its subsidiaries to ensure their effective operation in accordance with federal, state, and local Laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Education:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an A.B.A accredited law school and admission to the bar.
Minimum Experience:
- Zero to three years’ experience during law school or as a practicing attorney.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Superior academic record.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Strong negotiation, human relations, and communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and experience with data privacy and cybersecurity laws and privacy programs. IAPP certification strongly preferred. Knowledge and experience with multinational corporate compliance programs, including experience working with international locations or handling international compliance-related issues. Knowledge and experience with enterprise risk management and/or compliance risk assessment programs. Proficient with third party compliance technology platforms and data analytics.
Work/Domicile Location(s):
- The desired location for this position is Memphis, Tennessee, however the following other approved state locations may also be considered: Arkansas, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

Additional Details: This position is for a Privacy Attorney reporting to the Staff Director, Global Head of Privacy and Compliance and will be a member of the Corporate Integrity & Compliance group within the FedEx Corporation Legal Department.
