Description

The Customer Solutions Peak Planning team engages FedEx sales, engineering, and operators to responsibly flex the FedEx network to meet our customers’ peak shipping needs while protecting the integrity of the network and service levels. The team is seeking a Supply Chain Advisor to support data analytics and customer forecasting, collaborate with Sales and customer teams to agree upon approved peak shipping forecasts and operating plans our largest surging eCommerce shippers, assist in maintaining the team’s databases and dashboards, and drive collaboration with partner teams across Federal Express Corporation.

Essential Functions

  • Provides supply chain thought leadership that supports the sales process and improves our ability to differentiate and add value to the overall solution and sales strategy for both new and existing customers.
  • Provides supply chain performance improvement recommendations related to cost, service, footprint, asset utilization, as well as overall network improvement.
  • Partners with sales to evaluate customer business needs and future trends to establish high-level strategy to execute supply chain improvements based on the services and capabilities offered by the entire enterprise.
  • Requires the application of innovative specialized/technical skill sets relevant to the role and objective of the department.
  • Works individually and leads peer and cross functional teams with internal/external customer interaction.
  • Mentors less sr. staff
  • Leads brainstorming, review and development of recommendations for highly complex sales/customer/corporate initiatives, recommending best methods.
  • Presents solutions to upper management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing customer forecasts via Access, advanced Excel, SQL, SQL Server Mgt, or other analytical tools
  • Dashboard and visualization development and implementation including PowerBI
  • Relational database and user administration
  • Working closely with Sales and the customer team to align on peak forecast approvals and implement peak-specific operational tactics to support the increase in volume
  • Analyzing customer forecast requests considering business changes and recent volume trends
  • Presenting case for revised forecast to internal partners and customers when requests are not consistent with trends or capacity availability
  • Collaborating with local engineering and operations teams to develop and implement operational tactics to support peak volume increases
  • Providing system form design support for special customer operating scenarios
  • •Engaging with local engineering and operations teams to resolve unexpected operational support issues as they arise during the surge event
  • Preparing and leading customer-facing presentations in a concise and professional manner

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in data retrieval, analytics, and visualization. Includes extracting, manipulating, and organizing raw data; analyzing data to make conclusions and draw actionable insights; and displaying data concisely in an easily digestible format
  • Advanced analytical skills, including forecasting, modeling, and analytical tool development
  • Forecasting experience via Access, advanced Excel with Power Query, SQL Server, or other analytical tools
  • Comfortable with using query and programming languages like SQL, Python, DAX, etc. to access, manage, clean, and manipulate data.
  • Experience with PowerBI or other business intelligence tools to aid in data modeling, visualization, and task automation
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve customer peak shipping challenges.
  • Comfortable having challenging conversations with customers regarding planning and capacity constraints.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and high emotional intelligence to engage directly with customer teams for the company’s largest global shippers
  • eCommerce supply chain industry experience
  • Network optimization experience
  • Ability to plan and work on multiple high-visibility customer and/or internal assignments concurrently
  • Assumes responsibility with minimal supervision
  • Ability to easily adapt to changing priorities and timelines

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree/equivalent in business or a related field.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years related experience in designing, maintaining, and/or implementation of solutions to complex business situations. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Advanced and innovative application of skills with business software, spreadsheet applications, and project management principles.

Ability to plan and work on multiple assignments concurrently.

Ability to present solutions to senior leadership.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
