About Us:
Build Financial Services is a relatively new Client Advisory Services practice specializing in
providing comprehensive financial services to small and mid-sized businesses. We are
committed to delivering complete, accurate, timely accounting services and supporting
our clients with customized financial strategies. We are seeking a dedicated, detail-
oriented Accountant to join our team and take on a leadership role in managing accounting
functions, mentoring staff, and embracing new challenges and opportunities.
Job Summary:
As an Accountant at Build Financial Services, you will be responsible for overseeing daily
accounting operations, managing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with
certain regulatory requirements. You will work closely with clients to analyze their
financials, offer insights, and deliver accurate and timely reports. You will also mentor staff
and assist in training them to maintain high standards in accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
statements for clients.
- Provide detailed variance analysis and reporting to clients, highlighting key
financial insights and trends.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of all financial records in compliance
with industry standards and regulations.
- General Ledger & Reconciliations:
- Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring proper recording of all
transactions.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards,
accounts payable/receivable, and other relevant financial accounts.
Tax Coordination:
- Prepare and review certain business tax filings, including sales tax, payroll
taxes, and other local, state, and federal filings.
- Assist clients with tax planning, ensuring all necessary deductions and
credits are utilized. *Note that Build Financial does not prepare tax returns,
but we work with tax providers to identify and implement
strategic/advantageous accounting policies.
- Client Management & Advisory:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding financial reporting
matters, offering timely advice and recommendations.
- Collaborate with clients to identify financial goals and implement strategies
and custom reporting to meet those objectives.
- Support system implementations, integrations, and other client specific
projects to encourage adherence to industry standards and KPI’s
Management:
-- Responsible for execution and review of daily bookkeeping functions
performed by staff which include:
- AP data entry, bill submission, bill payments
- AR data entry, aging reports, cash receipts
- Time entry, payroll approval, payroll processing, payroll tax payments
- General administrative client requests
- Provide guidance to accounting staff, ensuring accurate and efficient
completion of tasks.
Process Improvement:
- Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting systems and
processes.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and recommend enhancements to
improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft
Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet
deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
