Position Summary: The Warehouse Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and organized operation of Barnhart storage and warehouse facilities. This role ensures facility readiness, accurate inventory control, and effective coordination of preventative maintenance and storage projects. The Storage Operations Specialist serves as a key operational partner to internal teams and customers, maintaining Barnhart’s high standards for safety, quality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Oversight & Maintenance

  • Monitor the overall condition and structural integrity of warehouse and storage facilities.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, identifying and reporting conditions related to lighting, doors, security systems, fencing, and general infrastructure.
  • Ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, including oversight of housekeeping standards such as trash removal, material organization, and elimination of foreign debris.

Inventory Management

  • Evaluate existing storage operations and inventory management practices, recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer-owned materials and equipment stored in Barnhart facilities.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and work with internal teams to ensure timely investigation and resolution.

Equipment & Preventative Maintenance

  • Coordinate with internal maintenance teams and approved vendors to ensure equipment is inspected, serviced, and maintained in accordance with Barnhart standards and operational requirements.
  • Assist in tracking maintenance activities and identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and uptime.

Customer Support & Communication

  • Support customer visits to storage facilities by ensuring sites are professional, organized, and ready for inspection.
  • Communicate warehouse operations, inventory status, and storage processes clearly and professionally to customers as needed.

Project Coordination – Storage Projects

  • Support storage-related projects from initial handoff through execution and closeout.
  • Collaborate with Project Sales Representatives during project development to ensure alignment of scope, expectations, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal stakeholders and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track and document changes affecting project scope, schedule, or budget, ensuring proper communication, approvals, and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Warehouse operations, storage management, logistics, or related industrial environments preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage inventory records and perform audits accurately.
  • Working knowledge of facility maintenance practices and preventative maintenance coordination.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
