Job Summary: The Fabrication Production Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and managing fabrication shop personnel, including overseeing daily job hazard analysis meetings to ensure safe operations. The role involves creating and maintaining a master schedule for all projects in the shop and meeting regularly with the team to review key performance indicators of production. Additional duties include generating and tracking fabrication estimates for communication with Barnhart leadership, developing best practices to enhance operational efficiencies and profitability, collaborating closely with Engineering to discuss design manufacturability, and managing labor resources to align with company objectives and core values.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with in-depth understanding of fabrication and welding techniques, materials, and equipment, including a general working knowledge of the AWS D1.1 Structural Code.
  • Safety: Strong understanding of OSHA standards and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Certifications: Certified Welding Inspector credential, OSHA 10.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including lifting, standing for long periods, and wearing required PPE.
  • Fit for Duty: Must pass a drug test, fit for duty and background check.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and supervise fabrication shop personnel to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Create, maintain, and adjust production schedules to ensure projects meet deadlines and resource allocation is optimized.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure equipment meets required specifications and industry standards.
  • Lead daily job hazard analysis meetings and enforce safety standards to maintain a safe work environment and minimize risks.
  • Regularly track key performance indicators, such as productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Create and track fabrication cost estimates and communicate estimates, progress, and adjustments to company leadership.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure manufacturability of designs and address any design or production challenges.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for operational efficiency, cost savings, and quality enhancement.
  • Oversee labor and resource allocation in alignment with production schedules and business priorities.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and components, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste.
  • Uphold company policies, core values, and regulatory requirements in daily operations.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the fabrication team to discuss project updates, challenges, and goals, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve any issues that arise during production to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Address personnel issues, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive work environment.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Apply analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
