AutoZone’s Fleet Operations Department leads the strategic sourcing and management of the vehicles that drive our logistics, transportation, and field operations nationwide. Through strong partnerships with our 3rd party providers, the team delivers seamless coordination across maintenance, registration, telematics, and compliance—ensuring safety, operational excellence, and long-term fleet performance.
Role at-a-Glance
As a Fleet Coordinator at AutoZone, you'll be integral to both tactical and daily fleet operations. From managing registration, maintenance, collisions, and rentals to supporting telematics, fuel card processes, and vehicle ordering, your impact spans multiple systems and teams. This fast-paced role requires a detail-oriented communicator with strong technical skills who can turn operational challenges into smart, actionable solutions that keep our business moving forward.
Key Responsibilities include any combination of:
Ordering new or replacement vehicles from manufacturers and dealer partners
Coordinating various vehicle management activities within a 3rd party Fleet Management Company portal
Review and disposition collision repair, maintenance, and rental requests
Coordinate and streamline responses to fleet-related challenges from store and field teams
Monitor and manage vehicle lifecycle activities to support strategic deployment and sourcing
Utilize internal and external dashboards with excel reporting to identify actionable operational tasks
Manage deployment and servicing of telematics devices
Monitor telematics status and coordinate compliance with stakeholders to ensure devices remain active
Communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and service partners
Answer store and field questions related to fleet operations and company fleet policies
Monitor and drive compliance with vehicle registration, maintenance schedules, inspections, and safety requirements
Manage fuel card program audits and usage tracking
Collaborate across departments to enhance overall fleet performance, cost-efficiency, and policy adherence
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
- 1 – 3 years of relevant experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.
- Strong Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail
You’ll Go the Extra Mile If You Have (Preferences)
- Experience working with large fleet operations.
- Prior experience with Fleet Management Systems.
- Familiarity with telematics platforms such as GeoTab.
- Knowledge of fuel card management and auditing processes.
- Background in logistics, transportation, or fleet coordination.
