Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bilingual Operations Manager - Development Rotation to join our team. This role is designed for a seasoned Operations Manager or Warehouse Leader looking to take the next step in their career and be groomed to become a Distribution Center Manager. The ideal candidate will undergo comprehensive training to develop the skills and knowledge required to lead a high-performing distribution center and manage critical projects across our distribution network.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leadership & Training: Participate in a structured training program to develop expertise in managing distribution center operations, including inventory management, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment.
· Operational Excellence: Oversee warehouse functions such as inbound and outbound logistics, inventory control, and quality assurance.
· Team Management: Supervise and mentor warehouse supervisors and associates to ensure productivity, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards. Lead, coach, and train teams, providing feedback and support on DC systems, processes, and applications.
· Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to improve workflow, reduce costs, and enhance overall warehouse efficiency. Develop, implement, and support DC labor standards and management systems.
· Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
· Performance Metrics: Analyze KPIs related to labor management, order accuracy, shipping times, and customer satisfaction.
· Technology & Systems: Gain expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other logistics software to optimize operations. Collaborate with IT to determine the best hardware and software solutions.
· Project Leadership: Oversee the entire project life cycle, from scope definition to on-time, on-budget delivery. Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts across departments and external partners.
· Collaboration: Work closely with DC teams, Merchandising, Store Operations, IT, and Supply Chain to optimize solutions for all DC-related matters.
· Strategic Development: Develop and execute forward-thinking strategic tactics and processes. Manage project documentation and ensure accurate reporting to leadership.
· Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to DCs, ensuring clear and concise communications and flawless execution of projects.
· Store Issues Resolution: Deal with and resolve store issues effectively.
· Productivity & Safety: Work with the DC Management team to improve productivity, efficiency, accuracy, and create a safer work environment.
· Budget Management: Monitor, review, and adjust budget and expenses to achieve goals.
· Employee Interaction: Interact with all AutoZoners to address and resolve any issues, and solicit ideas to improve DC performance.
Requirements:
· Experience: 3+ years of experience as an Operations Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, or similar leadership role in a distribution or logistics environment. Minimum of 7+ years in roles such as Distribution Center Operations, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or DC Operations.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and drive employee engagement.
· Warehouse Operations Knowledge: Strong understanding of inventory control, shipping/receiving, and warehouse safety protocols.
· Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.
· Technical Proficiency: Experience with WMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and Project Management experience required, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Yard Management Systems (YMS).
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
· Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Willingness to participate in rotational assignments for development within Distribution Operations, Transportation & Logistics, and Replenishment.
· Additional Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish), willingness to relocate to Memphis, TN, and ability to travel up to 70%.
